Everyday holds wonderful manifestations of God's love. He teaches me lessons through my children and the journey of life. I found out that one just has to open their eyes and start looking at the mundane in a creative way.

God wants to pamper you

Now that things are calming down a little bit more at my house concerning the kids, I've had this crazy thing happen. I've had a little more time to start reflecting on life for myself. A few days ago I told my husband that I almost feel guilty for thinking about something else other than the kids. Which I know is ridiculous but it's true. After I got over this unnecessary emotion I searched the web for what other people said about discovering God's plan for ther life and I found this really good website that put things into perspective: http://www.biblrytr.com/Godsplan.htm. The writer explained how the ten commandments gives us an outline for how to live but God has given us freeedom in the details as long as we don't go against His word.

My personal desire is to walk in that freedom without worry. I tend to be a rule follower and sometimes I can put myself in a box when God has given us enormous freedom as John 8:36 says: So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.  Free to live amazing lives for God. I look at the lives of Moses, Abraham, Deborah, Esther and the apostles. God did amazing and extraordinary things through these ordinary men and women. I don't think they ever thought in their wildest dreams what was possible with God. In Matthew 19:26 it says: "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." But what about the things in my heart that I dream of doing? What about those desires? Did I put them ther or did God?

One of my favorite verses is Psalm 37:4 which says Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. He cares about the desires of our hearts and wants to give them to us. But He says delight in me first. When I looked up the original meaning of the word delight I was really surprised at the defination.

 Delight (Hithpael)

  1. to be of dainty habit, be pampered
  2. to be happy about, take exquisite delight
  3. to make merry over, make sport of

Numbers 2 and 3 make sense but number 1 is interesting. Delight "Be pampered" yourself in the Lord? When you think of being pampered you might think of a spa where you lie there and have everything done for you. The worries of the world fade away while someone else does all the hard work. I NEVER thought that this is what it means-to give over and let God "pamper" you and bestow upon you the desires of your heart.

Even while writing this I am in awe of God's mercy and grace. I am determined to enjoy the gifts and blessings that He has betowed upon me. Many times fear and discouragement creep into my thoughts and cause me to want to give up on my dreams but God said in

Philippians 1:6, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

He started the work and He will finish the work in you and in me. Don't put yourself in a box. God is not in a box and He doesn't put His beloved children in boxes. With man many things are impossible but with God all things are possible.

God Bless.

I love this! I think, especially as women, that we feel guilty getting pampered...even by God. I know that I always feel as if I ask too much or don't deserve His love and gifts. Well, and as you know, I bursted out of that box a long time ago :).
