Something strange has happened....I lost 5 lbs. 5 lbs! When I couldn't lose 1lb with all my exercising! In fact, I was gaining. Which I know-muscle weighs more than fat and evenutally the higher muscle percentage will increase my resting metabolism and subsequently decrease my fat percentage. BUT STILL I was getting frustrated. Then a few days ago, I thought "What the heck? I'll jump up on this old scale here and see how the tire (the one around my belly) is doing." And lo and behold- it was 5 lbs less!
Now you might be wondering either "5 lbs-so what?" or "how'd you do it?" To the first statement I've lost 40lbs since giving birth to my last child and have 15 lbs more to go-so I'm pretty happy with 5 lbs! To the second statement-I wish I had something more original and more purposeful to to tell you. Since Hadessa is on a detox diet she can't have processed flour, or sugar. As a result, the WHOLE family has gone on this detox diet with her. I have barely had any bread ( a few rolls a few times a week) and no white sugar and no processed flour (at least on purpose). In addition I've greatly reduced meat and am getting protein from other food sources. To tell you the truth I haven't had a much joint pain, headaches, achiness or nasal congestion. I still have my moments when I'm tired but it is a lot less.
Oh-I must give credit to the missing microwave. The fact that I have no way of heating up some frozen meal causes me to plan out my meals better. It's caused me to take a second look at what we're eating. It is not easy changing how we eat but we had no choice if we wanted to help the kids' skin.
