Everyday holds wonderful manifestations of God's love. He teaches me lessons through my children and the journey of life. I found out that one just has to open their eyes and start looking at the mundane in a creative way.

I would like to thank the Academy
Dija Henry

the oscarSteve Martin and Alec Baldwin were the entertainers chosen to host the 82nd Academy Awards show last night. They did not disappoint. With their wit and maturity they had the audience laughing pretty much the entire time they were on stage. Last night I have to say that it felt like people were winning because they deserved it, not because it was about time to give that actor a chance or it was about time another ethnic group won an award. I have to admit that I did not see all of the films up for awards. In the past I used to make it a point to make sure I watched all of the nominated films before the awards show but it recent years that has fallen to the wayside since the opportunity to jump up and catch a film has declined considerable with the birth of my three kids. However, I did treat myself by putting the kids to bed early, dressing up in a ball gown and diamonds, and sitting as close to the television as my own mother would allow to soak it all up! (I'm just joking about the diamonds)

(Spolier alert) Some of my favorite parts were Sandra Bullock winning for best actress in Blindside, Kathryn Bigelow the first female to win best director (I had no idea a woman had never won until now), the awesome dancers who danced to the music of the artists nominated for best musical score.

I can't lie, I do dream of going to the Academy Awards one day, I've thought about what I'd wear more than I thought about what to wear to my own wedding.

Another one of my favorite parts of the show was when one of the winners took the time to thank those who influenced his life growing up. He said that no one told him it was a waste of time and always encouraged him... and then he turned to the camera to encourage other kids to keep doing what they loved...it's not a waste of time.

I believe the same goes for us even as adults. If God has put something in your heart...do it. It is not a waste of time. In fact, you will be wasting your time if you refuse to do it. Jonah had to waste three days in the belly of a big fish because he wouldn't do what God put in his heart. So whatever it is, in the words of nike "just do it" and I'll see you on the red carpet...in my Oscar de la Renta!

This is great! I pray you do attend the Academy Awards one day and I look forward to seeing how beautiful you'll look in your Oscar de la Renta, what God has for you it is for you. Thanks for the inspiration again, always on time.

This one was right on time for me. I am about to pursue some things that are going to require some serious ... determination. And the crazy thing is I can't really say why I am doing it. All I know is that I want to and I will accomplish my goal. It won't be a waste of time. Thanks!!!

That was good and so true. Some of the Gowns look a "HOT MESS" too, they expect you to fall in love with the Gown because of who made it or who wearing it.
