Everyday holds wonderful manifestations of God's love. He teaches me lessons through my children and the journey of life. I found out that one just has to open their eyes and start looking at the mundane in a creative way.

My journey of faith
Dija Henry

Yesterday you may have read my blog that discussed the painful look I had at what war, violence and rape is doing to women and children in the Congo, Africa. In particular one story broke my heart, of a mother telling how her less than 1 year old daughter was raped and left for dead. She did survive.

I had just finished doing my bible study on El Roi, God who sees, before I had come across this youtube interview. God sees all the suffering and injustice in our world and this was a particularly hard lesson for me to study because I ask the same questions you do:  "How can God see this and let it happen?" I could barely pray last night as I kept thinking about the women, children and people in general. How can a nation watch it's people destroy each other? After I went through the normal stages of dealing with this: wanting revenge, wanting the inflictors of pain to die, wanting the victims to be healed and saved- I came back to Jesus. Only the acceptance of Christ and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit (rather than the indwelling of demonic spirits-which I think is the only way someone can rape a baby) can change these perpertrators and the situations of the victims. Becuase children are being taken into these rebel armies and taught this evil way of life-it perpetuates this mindset. Much like the gangs of America. It is easy to hate the assailants...

I say all this to say that although these sufferings on earth are so horrid at times if one accepts what Christ has done for us then the pain on earth is the WORST that you will suffer. It will be the WORST that the women and children of the Congo suffer if they can hear and receive the good news of Christ. For when you are separated from your earthly body in death you will be with God.

Revelation 21:4 says "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

God Does NOT WANT you to not be lost. There is nothing on our own merit that is "good enough" to save us. Only by believing in God's Son can we be saved. It is sad but some will reject Christ anyway. But maybe God is tugging on your heart to come to really know Him intamately and be saved. If you saw someone going down a path that led to a cliff-you would warn them right? Well that's what we have to do, warn people and tell them to turn around away from destruction.

John 10:10 says

The thief (the devil) does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Although it is so hard to understand why certain things happen-I have learned El Shaddai (All Sufficient God), Elohim (Creator), El Elyon (Most High God), El Roi (the God who sees) has made a way out for us through His son Jesus. I want people to know God's love and mercy is being offered to human kind to escape eternal judgment and be with Him in paradise one day. What we suffer here is nothing compared to the suffering of being separated from God and nothing compared to the joy of being with God.

Paul a servant of the Lord suffered many things and was martyred for preaching about Jesus wrote:

Romans 8:18

18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Jesus died and went down and conquered sin and death for our sakes  then He rose from the dead in victory.  This gives me hope. Hope that one day children like this little girl will no longer suffer if they can hear the good news. Her life story will be different because of the blood of Jesus.

If you are a believer , pray that the good news will be carried by workers to the ends of the earth. If you are not a believer, please investigate what the bible says about life and death before you reject this. Find a bible teaching church and ask questions. Bill Wiese tells a story of a man who literally accpeted Christ into his life HOURS before he died. Don't let time pass you by.
