Everyday holds wonderful manifestations of God's love. He teaches me lessons through my children and the journey of life. I found out that one just has to open their eyes and start looking at the mundane in a creative way.

Ordinary People
Dija Henry

Yesterday my Pastor spoke about a subject that really touched my heart. He spoke about the 2 main calls a person gets on there life when they become a Christian. The first one is obviously the call into His presence. It is Him that puts the desire in our hearts that enables us to believe in Jesus. It is done by God alone by grace alone and not by anything we have said or done to merit us salvation.

John 15:16

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.

The second call one recieves is more personal. Do you sense a particular passion, inclination towards a ministry? God put it there not you yourself. God will work everything out to equip you with what you need to bear fruit. bearing fruit

Many of us know the story of Moses. His mother wanted to save him from the infanticide that was occurring in Egypt and hid him in a waterproof basket among the reeds. Mariam, his older sister watched the basket as it floated towards the palace. As a result, Moses was found by Pharaoh's daughter and raised in the palace with the best education in world. Egypt was ahead of every other culture in engineering, medicine, mathematics, the arts. Although Moses had the most excellent formal education he needed to be educated in the wisdom of God. And that required time.

Don't try to run ahead of God

Moses knew 40 years before he was to lead the Israelites out of Egypt that he was supposed to be the deliverer. However when he tried to intercede between to fighting Hebrews they rejected him and reminded him of the murder he had committed before trying to defend another slave from an Egyptian slave driver.

When God is ready to move He will prepare the hearts of the people that you are going to

Moses did not return to Pharaoh until 40 years after he had fled into the desert and was visited by the Angel of the Lord in the burning bush. Moses was able to accomplish so much more when God sent him rather than when Moses was trying to send himself. Can you imagine? One ordinary man led millions of slaves out of the most powerful nation in the world!! This is only something God could have done.

I have a feeling that God gives us impossible tasks to accomplish on purpose. So that when it is accomplished we can only give glory to Him. If there is something on your heart that you would like to accomplish for the Lord take courage. It will be accomplished. I saw the following scripture on the wall of the financial counselor at the hospital where my son was treated for an allergic reaction to fish earlier this week. I was inspired as it was brought up for the second time at church on Sunday.

(I can have a hard head sometimes. Maybe God has to reiterate things more than once...no I'm SURE He has to reiterate more than once! LOL!)

Psalm 27:14fruit trees

Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart
 and wait for the LORD.

God Bless and please leave a comment!

I am thankful for this specific blog at this very moment it is so relevant. The reality of experiencing this truth about God's presence with us and waiting on what He puts in our hearts is appliable right at this moment, thank you. I am reminded that I can trust God to do what He's called me to do for Him. No matter how much my flesh wants to bound me up with it's cares,I am no longer mastered by it. But my master is the Lord Jesus and I am to remain, hold fast, and anchor myself in His word so He can reveal to me who He is. I am thankful for your blog page Dija as well and I will lift you up up in prayer asking God to fulfill His will in you and to illuminate His truths to you. That your eyes are opened to see creatively in the mundane.

thank you for this post. I often need to be remonded of this. My son is going to start school in September and I sincerely do not know what I am going to do with myself. Go back to teaching? Work on my clothing line business fulltime? I have to remember not to run ahead of God and to just keep praying and he will lead me. I continue to love your blog!!!

Thank you for sharing this! God has been speaking VERY loudly to me in this area, as my life starts to shift more heavily towards ministry. Something that the Holy Spirit has put on my heart is that God wants us to live in the overflow...and as much our hearts want to do, do, do...God wants us to live within what He gives us, including what things He calls us to do. Living in the overflow is something that I am trying to do, but it is a struggle...I'm used to just doing...and then asking.
