I had planned to introduce Friday blogs as "Crafty Fridays" to share with you my crazy love for crafting but I feel today I must take some time and remember Michael Jackson.
June 25, 2009 - " 'Commenting on his passing, Sir Howard Stringer, Chairman, CEO and President, Sony Corporation, said: "Michael Jackson was a brilliant troubadour for his generation, a genius whose music reflected the passion and creativity of an era. His artistry and magnetism changed the music landscape forever. We have been profoundly affected by his originality, creativity and amazing body of work. The entire Sony family extends our deepest condolences to his family and to the millions of fans around the world who loved him.'"
I thought this quote really captured my thoughts about Michael. We grew up with Michael and saw his life journey through many valleys and mountain tops. I guess we all can have our individual thoughts about the various tabloid accusations on his character as well as our opinions on his parenting but we as outsiders will never know for sure. But God knows for sure what is in a man's heart. In the end what really matters? I think what is so tragic about his death is that he seemed to be trying to fill an emptiness with creating a perfect world behind the walls that hide his home and never seemed to be quite at peace.
I beg any of you who are trying to fill that empty part in your heart to fill it with God's love through Jesus. Not the love of fans, material things, or fame. We all have the same hole in our hearts and we try to fill it with different things. I know-I've tried it too. But the problem is that hole is to big to fill with anything other than God's love. I think that shows how special you are to Him.
I enjoyed Michael's music, dancing and creativity and I do feel like a part of my child hood has died along with Michael. Let us pray that his children will be in safe hands and have a chance to find the One who's love will heal all the pain that this tragedy will leave in their lives. I pray for the Jackson family and their comfort as well.
