My friend, who has 3 kids, told me that when for some reason colds last an exponentially long time at her house. I never understood why a cold took so long to go away for her family....until now! Until I have met the 3 kids threshold! Well-I suppose I must add spouse in there because when one spouse is sick the other one has to put on their big girl or big boy underwear and chip in! First, the cold hit hubby and child #1, then the baby, Child #2 is holding strong just with a hurt finger, I'm feeling under the weather but not exhibiting full cold symptoms. Well let me better explain...
I actually do not think I am sick, I really think my sore throat came from Monday night at rehearsal. I had to rehearse the part of the play where my character must give birth...naturally. So there is a lot of yelling involved. Now I purposely chose to have her yell alot becuase I had child #3 naturally and BELIEVE me, I felt EVERYTHING! The contractions, the back labor, my hips moving, everything! Especially the "tearing" of tissue so that the biggest baby I've had to date could enter this world. (My apologize if that was too graphic.) But totally worth it!

In addition to the yelling, later that night when I was leaving rehearsal I noticed a loud noise coming from the front right side of the car. In compliance with my husband's insistence that I turn around and have my director listen to the sound since he couldn't discern the problem via cell phone, I noticed a "burning smell" after the car gave a loud "skweeeeeeeeeee!" (is this helping you car experts out there?) "Luckily", I turned into a church driveway instead of busting a U-ey (U-turn), because the car started SMOKING! I got out of that car sooo fast because in my filmmaker mind-I was sure the car was going to catch on fire and blow-up! (it didn't). But I think with the combination of "giving birth", the smoke and my asthma I ended up with a swollen throat, chest congestion, and fatigue. Other than that I have had no fever or other problems thank God! Hubby did well last night by picking up and doing dishes when he got home from a meeting. He even through in a back rub! (100 points). I was sooo tempted to call the friend who thought my trying to make a left hand turn out of a Walgreen's and getting stuck over a median was HILARIOUS, and tell her what car adventures I had gotten myself into this time. But alas, I didn't want to hear the laughing in my ear at that moment...but now I'm laughing...sort of.
